I spent over 20 years searching for answers to health problems that doctors couldn't explain. Chronic fatigue that made normal life feel impossible. Brain fog that cost me relationships and career opportunities. Digestive issues that had me afraid to leave the house.

The turning point came when I finally understood what my genetic data was trying to tell me. Not just that I had 'issues'—but specifically which methylation pathways weren't working, which detox genes were sluggish, and which nutrients my body couldn't process efficiently.

That discovery changed everything. And it's why I built Advanced Health Genetics.

20+ Years of Searching for Answers

For most of my adult life, I dealt with a constellation of health issues that seemed unconnected:

  • Chronic fatigue – not 'tired,' but the kind of exhaustion where getting out of bed felt like running a marathon

  • Brain fog – forgetting words mid-sentence, unable to focus, feeling decades older than I was

  • IBS and digestive chaos – including recurring SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)

  • Hypothyroidism – diagnosed but poorly managed

  • Recurring infections – sinusitis, candida overgrowth, seemingly constant

  • Chronic pain that moved around my body with no clear cause

I saw every kind of practitioner you can imagine. Conventional doctors. Functional medicine specialists. Naturopaths. Integrative practitioners. I tried elimination diets, supplement protocols, detox programs, and treatments from practitioners around the world.

Some things helped temporarily. Most didn't. And the frustration of being told my tests were 'normal' while feeling like I was barely surviving... that was its own kind of exhausting.

When Everything Finally Made Sense

The real breakthrough came when I started diving deep into my genetic data. Not just looking at a few SNPs—but really understanding the patterns.

What I discovered explained everything:

  • MTHFR variants affecting how my body processes folate and runs methylation – the very foundation of energy production and detoxification

  • Detox pathway variants (CYP genes, glutathione-related SNPs) that explained why I was so sensitive to environmental toxins

  • A blood test confirmed very high lead levels – and my genetics showed exactly why my body struggled to clear heavy metals

  • Nutrient absorption variants that meant I needed different forms and higher doses of certain vitamins, minerals and amino acids

  • Inflammation-related genes that explained the chronic pain and recurring infections

For the first time in 20 years, I wasn't guessing. I had a roadmap based on my actual biology.

The 7 Areas I Had to Address

Genetics was the key that unlocked everything—but it was still just the beginning. Over the years, I found that getting truly well required addressing seven interconnected areas:

1. Genetic Predispositions: Understanding which pathways needed support and which were working against me

2. Nutritional Imbalances: Optimizing levels of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids – in the right forms for my genetics

3. Toxicity & Detoxification: In my case, this meant addressing very high lead levels and supporting my sluggish detox pathways

4. Hormones & Neurotransmitters: Balancing the chemical messengers that affect energy, mood, and motivation

5. Lifestyle Factors: Sleep, exercise, posture, light exposure – the foundations that affect everything

6. Chronic Infections: Finally resolving the recurring SIBO, candida, sinusitis that kept pulling me back down

7. Emotional & Psychological Health: Learning to express feelings honestly, manage stress, and build genuine wellbeing

No single practitioner addressed all seven. That's why it took so long—and why I eventually had to piece it together myself.

The Other Side

At 45, I genuinely feel better than I did in my twenties. The brain fog is gone. The fatigue is gone. The constant infections are gone.

It took years of trial and error, thousands of dollars on tests and treatments, and a lot of frustration. But I got there.

And here's the thing: it didn't have to take that long. If I'd understood my genetics earlier—if someone had connected the dots for me—I could have skipped years of wasted effort on protocols that were never going to work for my specific biology.

Making This Accessible to Everyone

I founded Advanced Health Genetics because I don't want others to spend 20 years searching for answers that were hidden in their DNA all along.

Our reports analyze up to 83 million genetic variants—powered by Omics Edge, a team of 70+ scientists who've invested over $20 million in genetic analysis technology. We translate that data into clear, actionable recommendations you can actually use.

We also work with Dr. Arif Ali, MBBS, who provides medical oversight to ensure our recommendations are clinically appropriate.

Important: I'm not a doctor, geneticist, or scientist. I'm someone who found answers in genetic testing after decades of searching, and I built a company to help others do the same. For medical guidance, that's why we have Dr. Ali and the Omics Edge scientific team.
